Community Center


The West Columbia Community Center has a new roof. Further renovations will include an electrical upgrade. In-city residents may rent the facility for $150 per use effective October 1, 2006. All those that have rental agreements prior to the new change will still be charged the $75.00. Community Center Guidelines

1.	The Community Center is for the benefit of the citizens of West Columbia. At least one member of your party must reside within the West Columbia City limits.

2.	Effective October 1, 2006, the rental fee to use the Community Center is $150.00 per day. This fee is non-refundable. This fee must be paid in advance by 4:30 p.m. the day before the scheduled event. At the time of payment, you will receive the Official Rental Form. You must have this official form in order to retrieve the keys on the day of the event from Police Dispatch, located at 200 North 12th Street. You must return the key to the Police Department no later than 11:30 p.m. that same night.

3.	The Community Center is available for use until 11 p.m. There are no exceptions; your function must end by 11 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Because the Community Center is located in a residential area, the noise ordinance is effective all day and you are asked to contain your function inside the building and to keep noise levels, especially music, at a reasonable level. Neighbors will call the West Columbia Police if noise levels are excessive. Community Center renters can be cited and fined if the noise ordinance is violated.

4.	No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the building or on the grounds. Absolutely, no smoking is allowed in the building. You are responsible for cleaning up your trash or debris after the function ends. Please leave the Community Center as clean as you found it.

5.	The fire code capacity is 125 people for the building.

6.	The Community Center’s address is 754 B Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169.

7.	Please let Mardi McKinnon, City Clerk , know of any non-functioning equipment or any problems with the building by calling 939-8603 so that problems may be rectified immediately.
